A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
This blog is dedicated to Piers Gaveston, Earl Of Cornwall. Piers, also known as Perrot, was the favourite of Edward II. Depending on historical interpretation, the definition of 'favourite' ranges from 'brother', 'beloved friend' or 'lover'. This blog will be a mix of historical narrative, personal opinion and hopefully some lighter postings! The Plus will cover other historical matters.

Merry Christmas to you as well.
Arenje, thanks for the link. I'll check it as soon as I'm out of the kitchen and the last Christmas preparations :-) Merry Christmas!
Anerje! As for John, in Devil's Brood he appears as a minor but crucial character. He's still a young boy, then a very young man. To meet John as a grown-up and already a king I highy recommend Sharon Kay Penman's Here Be Dragons, the first part of her Welsh Trilogy. The author herself admitted that perhaps she was too kind when the youngest of Eleanor and Henry's sons was concerned :-)
